Processional introduction making two statements of the tune, first with the two trumpets playing canon at the fifth, the second organ and timpani foreshadowing the colors of the final verse. Three harmonizations: the first an adaptation of the familiar Healey Willian harmonization, the second a relatively conventional harmonization, and the last delving into a more Langlais-inspired harmonic world of doubled leading tones and parallel perfect intervals.
